THE ROAD

You record the steps of men 

Keeping track of their path 

Born out of a crowded field 

Paved with potentials 

You are visible you are real

Man's journey begins on level ground 

From the womb of the woman 

The souls of men were found

As feet of clay gains strength 

The road guides them to their ultimate end 

Sometimes smooth with distinctive lines 

A law to the ignorant and wisdom to the wise

Sometimes narrow and filled with curves 

An uphill climb that challenge the nerves 

You breathe out cruel heat in your rage

Becoming a road of disaster 

To those that refuse to change their ways 

You lay flat in the dust 

But propels the wise to the heights 

Steadfast in your purpose both day and night 

Each human has a story 

That can be told 

Just follow the tracks left behind  

Engraved on life's consuming road.
