The road is home...

You don't understand the road
It's takes over and consumes my soul
This is a place I called home
I can't live like a grounded stone
Like a gypsy I welcomed the days sun
I held up my heart like thief with a gun
Every story was in a bag under my eyes
When I came back I was living a lie
Excitement was a stranger in every book I read
It was on the stage when my great desire bled
I cried many forbidden tears alone in my broken cage
But in front of my fans I was like a moth to a flame
I seeked every saving grace
To sing it from a tortured page
Depression was on your face
But...
The road was always my place
You didn't understand the road
It took over and consumed my soul
This was a place I called home
I couldn't live like a grounded stone
The road is my home
The road is home...
