~ The Saddened Shores Of Insignificance ~

~ The Saddened Shores Of Insignificance ~

In the throat of the lobster
I spied a clinic full of cynics
Fishing, just off shore
Who, through their unique indiscretions
Found in the depths, so much more
Than the old tin soldiers
Had ever noticed before...

The town wore a grayness
In its submerged desperation
As grievous fishermen
Seeking oyster beds of open-faced,
Virginal, schools,
Usurping good from the most evil
Of crawling, lobster-bellied, beggars
And bittersweet bait shops,
That lived quietly
Along the saddened shores
Of insignificance,
Where, a clinic full of cynics
Had gone diving
Into the very throat of the lobster
Most willingly...

I sighed
As I realized
My time
Had not yet
Passed me by,
I smiled
And cast out
A net so large
As to choke
Even the heartiest
Of seekers,
I knew
My own time would come
Eventually
But,
I would not dare settle
For lobster,
No!
Not I....

You know...fell in love with this after the first two lines. Amazing write!!! Where did you get that head!!! There are so many people unable to open their minds to the very real possibility of a bigger picture Tony, preferring to believe what they have been taught by experts who mostly make it all up to fit their facts they can prove. Fab write 💕

I am a great fan of Dali, his school and all things surreal .. this was a very good example of that particular genre .................................... I particularly liked the several references to lobsters which of course is very Daliesque and am fast becoming a firm fan of yours truly .. Pinned, because in my book, it would be a crime not to as I'm passing through ..
All Good Things,

Neville :)
