The Sadness Of 44

My precious Angel Nico, today I suffer “The Sadness Of 44”;
The number of months exactly, since your Soul to Heaven soared!
February 16, 2015, on that most horrid Monday night;
You sailed away forever, your “Brave Heart” had lost its valiant fight!
.
I remember the day I met you, a puppy so full of life;
You jumped into my open arms, and ended all my strife!
I had never known such love before, our Souls bonded with that first kiss;
Then for thirteen years and seven months, we shared pure joyous bliss!
.
But now each day without you, my heart and Soul both weep;
Your tender love they needed, for happy to them keep!
The atrophy is like acid, they are tattered for evermore;
As I sob now in my darkness, with “The Sadness Of 44”
