The Scottish dog

I can't remember if I knew
The porcelain dog was Dad's Nana's.
I don't recall it being with us
When we went to China.
Peru and Bali so far apart
I felt as though I was doing backflips.
I wonder will Dad bury with it?
But he says the dog's mine
If I choose.
A leather bike jacket to go with it.
And I never forgot about
Dad's Da's gold ring!
Family heirlooms that will one day
Be passed down to me.

Oh I love this, so humbling, I didn't get anything of my Mother's when she passed away, we just weren't that sort of family with heirlooms, but heirlooms means something different to all of us, that's what I get from this, a castle? Or a bucket shaped castle to make sandcastles? Perhaps memories of making them together! Ah Rory, my muse is in over drive now. 🌹
