The Scottish soldier

The Scottish soldier

Black watch tartan clad his knee length kilt swayed whilst walking
Burly built with bagpipes under his arm he had no time for talking
Tho noone would understand him anyways with his local dialect coz this was tourist season full of foreigners I’d expect

Well his rendition of β€œThe Scottish soldier” echoed throughout the Royal mile and as he marched past me stood foot-tapping he winked and gave me a smile
I love the Highlands culture and adore the tartan plaid with those multi-coloured patterns and sporrans in parade

Pipers playing celtic chorus’s with the drummer’s in a rowΒ
Scottish music is so satisfying it’s that belting beat you know
It takes me right back to my childhood when I was a little tot
I used to follow the pipe band at the summer fair and I’d join in with the lotΒ
