The kings secret

The kings secret

Today I saw the king and maid
dancing in the garden.
At first sight, I saw no harm
But then my thoughts began to harden.
I saw the look inside her eyes,
the look of true devotion.
but in his,
It seemed a trance
with beauty as the potion.
And when they turned they to see me stare, fast released their tight embrace.
Then I knew there something wrong,
that mischief was this case.
How long had this been going on,
had the queen sensed something wrong? When the king could not be found,
or missed the dinner gong.
Was he with her, the dinner maid?
Dancing in the shadows.
Where would they meet, A room upstairs?
Or deep below the gallows?
What am I to do with this,
Should I ring the load alarm.
Or could this truth be worth it all,
Could it only to me harm?
