The Shadows

The Shadows

Lengthening now, summer moves on, more so now you're gone,
but you're still with me, the yellow and the gold so long;
the 'Friightened City' blares out, you wonder what life's about,
on the darkest day I'll always remember, there is no doubt.

We visited your 'Wonderful Land' so many great times,
lifted into heaven, so nice, that's when the spirit climbs;
remember 'Kon Tiki' across the waves, white crest behaves,
take you to far shores, the white coral sand that time saves.

It was a 'Sleepwalk,' Peace Pipe' and a 'Man of mystery,'
that summers of yesteryear added for all eventually;
so 'Dance On' if you can, I was your greatest fan,
I was there, in the old days when it all really began.

The Eagles said that nothing's really happened since 1969,
when 1960 'Apache' fired an arrow into a heart of mine.
