The Show Of Shows-Part II

The Show Of Shows-Part II

It’s now early Monday morning, as I write these words to you;
About the Antique Show of yesterday, and how much business did we do!
It was nothing very stellar, but was also not for naught;
We took in about one third, of the gross that we had sought!
.
The client we thought would spend a thousand, bought not a single piece;
He was there when the show opened, but our palms he did not grease!
So we worked hard for eight more hours, trying to sell our art;
But the prices on our paintings, cost more than with what most people willed to part!
.
At least we had three people, who realized the quality of our works;
Who purchased four lovely pieces, which gave our hearts a perk!
But our coffers still are hurting, their need was thrice as much;
So we’re still looking for solutions, to get more dollars in our clutch!
.
.
                          T’was comme ci comme ca
                            Metsa metsa at it’s best
                              Still leaving us short
