THE SILENT STREAM CALLS
Curious minds

Only little ones
We wondered from homeÂ
Mom’s voice faded to a dull silence.
Giggling along the wayÂ
We played with whatever we foundÂ
Until our eyes reflected the silent stream.
Why is itÂ
That such beauty and hearts delightÂ
Hides itself between the rocks and shaded leaves,Â
Only revealing itself if stumbled upon.
Gasping for airÂ
We stared at this marvel,
Words failing the lipsÂ
But clouding the mind of  curious adolescents.
Unaware of the sitting sunÂ
We followed the silent streamÂ
To its journeys end
Clutching each other in the dark
Un afraid of the night, until the sun returns.
