The Sinking of the Titanic

The steamship the luxury Titanic
was on her maiden voyage
Across the North Atlantic
From a port in South England
to the new world and New York city
When fate pen stroke
This was in 1912
At the dawn of a new century
In a moonless night
Few hours after early April 14
Tragedy struck
There were icebergs around
The ship struck a hidden one
The captain realized what happened
There was a call for quick evacuation
Children and women first
The water was chilly and Icy
There were not enough life boats
The passengers were in a panic
Many jumped off the ship
From hypothermia they died
Rescue ships in the area
Please come in hurry to help
Telegraphic signals were sent
The ship sank in few hours
A tragic page of history
Were about to be written
More than 1500 lives
Have sadly perished
The first ship came to rescue
more than two hours late have arrived
The frightened passengers on life boats
Were pulled up to the ship board
The merciless waters raging underneath
Dear friends and loved relatives
Across the other side of the ocean
At New York city
Were anxiously waiting
and soon full of grief stricken
The sinking of the Titanic
news spread fast around the world
The Titanic sinking still
never forgotten
To our days
For decades to come
Titanic is talked about
and individual stories about the
survivors and the lost ones
in movies, books and videos
