The Skylark’s song 💕

As I sat upon a grassy riverbank I watched the rolling ripples running by

April showers dripped little droplets from a cotton wool like cloudy sky

And I listened to sweet skylarks singing as they hovered way up high

Ducking and diving down to the water’s edge scooping up some smallfry..

Well I whistled at these wondrous warblers wanting to mimic the skylarks song

But my high-pitched copycatting wasn’t right ~ I guess I was following it all wrong

Goodness know’s what these birds were saying as they tweeted tunes loud and strong

Such sweet musical melodies enticing me to sing along...
