So many of these heartfelt letters must have been sent and received..one can only hope the writers  survived to come home to their loved ones. Beautiful! Lodigiana x

Our Dear Greg,

It is so hard to imagine, these poor soldiers separated from their loved ones, on Valentines Day, 1917.  Your lovely words, have portrayed so beautifully, their pain of being away from their families.

All our love,
Linda and Larry xxx

thank you Linda and Larry yes
you cant imagine  what it was like
being in a foxhole 24/7 in the cold
and mud and death so close
it has to change you

Our Dear Greg,

Had the three of us been in those trenches, your love would have been the reason for us to fight on.

All our love,

Hi Greg.....What a hard Valentine's Day that must have been!  I am sure many held onto the letters they received, hoping their loved ones would get to come home and receive that kiss he spoke of in the letter.....So sad...Valentine's Day can still be very bittersweet for many.... Great theme to write about. xo ;)
