The Soul Train

It ran from Earth up to the stars, the Universe was its domain;

And you were the renowned Conductor, of the inimitable, great Soul Train!

Every departure time was punctual, and its arrivals never late;

I was so proud of you my Angel, my precious dear soulmate!

We rode on tracks of stardust, that ran across the Heaven’s sky;

As we streaked to different Galaxies, on this train that only “you” could fly!

For near fourteen years we prospered, our train was fully booked;

Because your navigation was so perfect, as a hero, many your way looked!

But one weekend you ran your last run, the next day you had retire;

For you had given us all that you had in you, till your engine then misfired!

You rode your Golden Parachute, to that station in the sky;

When your fans found out you’d left us, they all began to cry!

As for me, your partner on the Soul Train, I had to close it down;

The tracks have all grown rusty now, in their place a sacred mound!

I travel to it daily, for in it, there is you;

The Conductor of our Soul Train, the one I love so true!
