The Sounds Of Silence

The sounds of silence are deafening, they permeate our broken hearts;
That fill our souls with purple tears, as depression ever starts!
No more little pitty pats, of your gentle lovely feet;
As they run across the carpeting, their Mommy and Daddy greet!

No sounds come from the water bowls, you drank from ten times a day;
No little growls or softened barks, when the three of us would play!
No little snores in the middle night, or yips when you had a dream;
No little body running towards us, when we’d whistle, or your name scream!

The house is eerily quiet now, unless we’re wracked with tears;
With memories of all the joy you brought, for over fourteen years!
The old adage “Silence is Golden”, for us now is a curse;
Without the sounds of our soulmate Cody, and his love to us immerse!
