The Spirit In Me

Covered in flesh so no one can see
The things I go through while God whispers to me

As time passes my conscience awakens
And joins the journey to set me free

Awareness of these allows me to see
My path towards victory

That every moment is an opportunity to do God’s will
And to separate myself spiritually

From the highs and lows, the hurt and pain, knowing full well
That this is what he desires for my spiritual gain

To look beyond myself, to reach out and bring forth other souls that have failed
To give love and forgiveness off the chart, off the scale

The spirit inside me, with my conscience and awareness in hand
Knowing I can do all things through God as a man

By simply believing in him in exchange for setting my soul free
Forgiving me again and again each time I fall short of his will inside of me

Spiritually, inside of me.
