The Star

Seeking and Finding

The Star

On the desert sand they trudged with camels tirelessly, keeping eyes skyward, horizon bound
Edged and ragged stars
shone aglitter
Save for one, that pulsed, its throb
rippled all through
Universe
All through creation
It exceeded all other sources
Of brilliance
Immeasurably, as the sign of birth
A life is given to the earth
Where we trod as sinners unsaved
Redemption is within reach
Like the star of Bethlehem
Closing eyes, we see like the wise men
Seeking and finding, like them
Discovering the Lord
The babe so innocent, yet enthroned
Laying in manger, ruling
With human eyes, human cries
But, ruling
And we cry to Him
Until He comes again as a man
The Man Who once died
The Man Whose wounds we'll see
On his hands and in His side
'twas for you and me
On the desert
We trudged
In the desert of no hope we found by closing eyes, seeing like the wise men, seeking and finding like them
The star of Bethlehem
The babe, the man
The King of kings!
