The Stars That Shine

As I look and gaze at the sky
And a lonely wolf howls in the distance
I look at the ground and remember 
Where I have been lost
Where I I followed my senses 
Only to find I have been senseless
In the search for a treasure
I have missed it like a mistraced bullet
Or a misguided surgeon's hand
And harm is irreversiblely done
Oh where is the sun?
Where is the light?
As I walk through an endless night
There is only the stars
The stars that shine..
