The Stench Of Politics
May we dance this dance you and me
In morning's light
Where bumblebees
(As God's creation)
Dare to waltz,
And Kings and Generals
Murderously
Reveal the stench of politics
Coquettishly
Yes, this dance shall be
Warning bells
So awaken the guarded façade
As hatred spills across the lawn
And this ballet
Between you and me
Becomes
The sawdust which
Lugubrious lathes
Have secretly sculpted
Into the very legs upon which we dance
Oh please, do not ask
" What of morning's dance? "
Remembering well
(In morning's light)
Where politics
Did diminish your life
And dance a waltz
Upon your well-deserved,
And bloodied,
Grave...
