The Still Earth

The Still Earth

As the silence walks through
Where chaotic empires stand
Being shown what we already knew
We are one under God’s hand.

This fear that has gripped us all
Has stopped us in our tracks
Once we ran in and out of a sinners call
Always placing the load on another’s back.

Within this silence we began to hear
Humanity within the human race
Slowed to a crawl from their own fear
Humiliated in the sight of a coming grace.

This slowed pace of man
Which was forced upon our hands
Has shown us in just a short span
How we poisoned the waters and land.

Man has broken nature itself
With our gluttony and greed
The blame is on only ourself
Taking much more than our need.

Our only hope is from our own despair
As we listen to the silent rage
And catch a breath of fresh air
Seeing in the distance the new age.

Nations now crumble under an invisible host As leaders search for a solution
Anywhere, except the Holy Ghost
I worry for their own absolution.

We are the cause of our own demise
Only Jesus, the son of God and man
Can and will devise
A healing upon our land.

Use this gift of time
That has been placed on your hands
It won’t cost you a dime
To humble yourself as you seek the promised land.

Thank you for the compliments and comments. The photo is part of NASA’s releases to the public.  They have some amazing photos out there freed up so the public can share.
