The Story
You wanna hear the story,
Of the broken little girl?
Who knew too soon,
Of the dark, sadistic world.
She was forced to act grown up,
Years beyond her age.
Learning things she shouldn't have,
Because everyone looked the other way.
Five years old,
Running an entire house,
The world on her shoulders,
Nobody to help her out.
Fast forward just a bit,
Coming to be seven.
This tiny little girl,
Fighting this huge depression.
Next year,
Only a tiny eight.
Step daddy down the hall
Insisted it wasn't rape.
Counting up,
Nine, Ten, Eleven years.
The put downs, "kill yourself"'s
Abuse, and lots of tears.
Then she was twelve,
Given to a stranger who was part of her creation,
Nobody really wanted her,
Still subject to the degradation.
Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen,
Progress and mistakes.
Looking for love in all the wrong places,
She even tried to take her life away.
Now she's sixteen,
She's not perfect but she's trying her best,
Even when everything's falling apart,
She's trying to pass the test.
She's trying, and searching for the key,
And I think that I should mention, this little girl is me.
