THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES

Morning has broken
And so were my ties to the night
Where I laid in fear of yesterday's disappointments
And concerns of the day's end

My eyes were closed in sleep
My body requiring rest from the days toil
But my mind laid awake
Replaying the images captured
And contemplating what the new day will bring

My seconds of rest has come to an end
I was aware of the new day and yesterday's torment
Before the roster crows, before the robin sing
Before the Eagles took to the air

As consciousness returned
So does the burdens of this life
O that I was as the winged creatures
Never having to choose between right and wrong
Unaware of good and evil
Unconcerned of others opinions

Free to do as I choose without condemnation
Bathing in the sunshine of His glory
And Provided for by the bounty of His love
But I am a man of sorrows
A recipient of pain and a creature of choice.
