The Stubborn Heart

She's got sadness in her voice but hope in her heart. And she can't help but think that this is falling apart. And she knows how it goes, she's been through it before. He's got pain in his heart and he acts like it's not there. Cause he's been through it all and he hates this despair. But now he can't breathe anymore. And they keep sharing glances from across the room. But they look away quickly as the tension looms. They can't be together but they can't be apart. And she should've seen this coming from the very start. But he made some promises that he should've kept. And there were things about him that she should accept. But those words were said, and can't be taken back. And now there's no love left, only regrets.
