The Summer Winds

For our dear Cody, who left us exactly 1 ½ years ago, August 5th, 2017.

You were born in the cold breeze of Winter, but you left with the Summer wind;
Fourteen years and five months, after your beautiful life’s begin!
We chose you from six others, so wild and frisky did you be;
To complete our little family, of Mommy, Nico, and me!

The moment you and your Brother, were seated side by side;
Your hearts and Souls each bonded, pure love ne’er be denied!
Our lives changed forever that sacred Sunday, our baby Cody brought such joy;
Mommy and Daddy in Seventh Heaven, from the beauty of our precious boys!

We did everything together, a quartet eternal bound;
The greatest joy we’d ever known, Mommy and Daddy had both found!
We held and played in the daytime, we cuddled closely in the night;
Nothing in our lives had ever, felt so very right!

We traveled to Nirvana, and stayed for near twelve years;
Until Nico had to sail away, the three of us in tears!
Then two and one-half years later, on a saddest August day;
The “Summer Winds” came calling, and stole you right away!

Winters breeze brought you
But Summers wind took you back
To the distant stars
