The Sweet Smell Of Success

The Sweet Smell Of Success

Jean Paul Gaultier reminded me of subtlety and love,
after all, it must have been scent from heaven above;
I know when you're coming, must be right what you're doing,
and when you're gone it still stays and and lingers long.

You climb in your BMW and then the swish of gravel,
the smile in the wing mirror is something wonderful;
driving thro' Welsh valleys with poetry from Dylan Thomas,
was enough to evoke mysterious magic from all of us.

Idole looked from the roadside with awe and wonder,
it was unstoppable so let no man just put asunder;
maybe number five hitched a ride, too late she cried,
I gave my best, you couldn't say that I hadn't tried.

A cloud settled over the Brecon Beacons, smiling away,
there could be nothing ever like this wonderful day.
