The ticking tock

Tick tock tick tock
Goes my German cuckoo clock
Though I am very fond of it
This monotony gets on my
wick abit

Its a permanent statement on my wall
Whilst it does look very grand
When I am sitting in silence
Its noises get out of hand

You see it has different chimes
They play every half an hour
But the ten O’clocks just went
& made me cringe & cower

I know its just a background sound
I’m just in one of those moods
Its bucketting down with rain here
Unless I’d be out walking in the woods

I guess nowadays I’ve got the walking bug
I think I’ll go out with an umbrella
To get this ticking out my lug
