The Treasured Photograph

The Treasured Photograph

I have a “Treasured Photograph”, taken when I was almost three;
My Mother sitting close to us, me perched on Father’s knee!
She looked so very beautiful, my Dad a handsome dude;
Their love for one another, does this picture e’er exude!
.
My Mother was in Show Business, a dancer on the stage;
She retired when they got married, as W.W. II, the World raged!
My Father, when he was discharged, earned a living very high;
Dealing in fine Antique Chandeliers, that shone beautifully at night!
.
This photo was taken by the Breakfront, at my Grandparents family house;
On Franklin Street in Philadelphia, five years since my Parents were espoused!
I visit them once a week now, on Sundays, at their graves;
I still can hear them both telling me, “Larry, be a good boy and behave”!
.
.
                                   Treasured Photos
                        Come alive when we see them
                               With great memories
