The Troubled Toad 🐸

I stumbled on three red-topped toadstools when I heard a troubled Toad

Now this small speckled creature looked just like any green Frog

As it frantically jumped up and down, ducking and diving on and off a boggy log

But this slimy spotted soul had four short stubbily stick legs

That stuck out of his warty bulbous body like little plump matchstick pegs

Well I stopped and listened for a moment, when I could not believe my eyes

The tantalising tone of this Toads croak sounded such a surprise

He was weeping and a’wailing as he looked right up to me

So I said in a whispered voice “What is wrong with you? please let me see!!”

Then the Toad took an almighty leap and he leapt up onto my hand

And when I saw the sheer state of his suffering, I said “Oh I understand!!”

Awww he had a plastic piece of string tied around his tiny neck

“Oh my golly gosh!!” neither wonder he is a troublesome soul, can you credit this..What the heck!!!”

Of course I untied the stupid string and gently rubbed the Toads scaly skin

When he soon started croaking normally and stopped that dreadful, deafening din

Then I knelt down on the grassy ground as he jumped around for joy
