The Two of Us
 
I want you to hold me in your arms tonight
From sundown until the dawn’s early light
 
All of our arguing has come to it’s end
Leaves us so many broken fences to mend
 
I always thought that we were a pair, two of a kind
Now you tell me you’ve got leaving on your mind
 
As totally reckless as we are
Our love has left a permanent scar
 
If you go I will miss touch of your skin
And how it stirs me from deep within
 
Please say that you love me like no tomorrow
Or I will be crying tears on pain and sorrow
 
The snow fell from the winter clouds today
Oh how my heart wishes that you would stay
 
I would do almost anything to have you not go
Don’t take your car and speed off into the snow
 
Come help me, I’m sinking in quicksand
I’m waiting for you to offer me your hand
 
It’s too little too late when you’re walking out the door
The fact that you’re leaving just makes me want you more
 
I cannot bear to go through this life all alone
Say you will not break up our once happy home
 
I won’t stand in your way if you need to leave
But I will be left all alone to do nothing but grieve
 
 
Finally there you go off into the snow
I’m drowning in a pool of grief and woe
