The Ugly Truth

The Ugly Truth

Taking a step back
I took a step forward
deflecting the self absorbed
fixation that consumes me

We only really care
to what effects us

even our own
paternal nature
is wrapped around
the self importance
of what we created

Selfless
or
just a need for survival

The baby comes
into this world
with the heart
of a leech

Some are predators
others
weak sheep

yet all

seeks to devour
the matter
the energy
that surrounds
oneself

acts of kindness
is infected
by recognition

no such
thing
as pure intent
without
an autografted
piece of egotism
surgically placed
in the middle

Humanity
is really hideous
if you think
about it

What is worse
though
is the  amount  of
effort
we put in
believing the delusion.
