The Untouchable

He ambled toward the Moon
Avoided blinking for most nights
Seeking shelter in the shadows
While fixated on the lights
Apprehended by the ground,
His need for weightlessness upsurged
And after years of fleeting fantasies
From the Earth, his feet diverged
Through revived eyes
The blues and greens of "home" concealed his past
Landing gently, on a glowing star
Virgin eyes read true contrast
While on the ground of Mother Earth,
He longed for simple space
Among the stars, so vast, so far,Â
To her framed globe, he faced
A static, saturated, sphere caught glowing in the dark
More captivating than the moon, why did he disembark!
He floated toward the Earth
Avoided straying from its sight
Seeking happiness from glowing stars
While fixated on finite
Apprehended by orbit
His need for gravity emerged
And after years of pleading with the Moon
To the Earth, his feet converged
