The voices of women 
These cannot be heard 
In the refuges solemn 
Where the tales seem absurd 
Of husbands beating wives 
Control to the end 
The destruction of lives 
That women try defend 
The man king is powerful 
Pushing and punching the wife 
The brides once joyful 
No longer in this life 
For the voices of women
Have fallen silent today 
Another victim has spoken 
With a limp she does pay 
The final moments 
On the way to a refuge 
Longing bereavements 
Mankind’s subterfuge
