The War Cry

The War Cry

In a different world
a previous life
I am convinced
that I was an Ancient Warrior

Maybe I was
like "Braveheart",
or an Indian Brave
always ready
to dive into
Battle
to win
over evil
and
 oppression

Regardless
of who I was
or who I am
today,
there is not
a day that goes
by
that I do not
awake
with the compulsion
thirst
and desire
to conquer
the life obstacles
that lay before
me

In this moment
as I write
my voice
prepares
for the
War Cry
for there
are battles
within me
that I will
persevere
and win

I cannot
help
to stay on
guard
to this self awareness
it is like
an instinct
of a wolf
within a pack
for self survival...................................
