Poem -

The Way of Life

No one gets credit for being an adult,
It’s what’s expected of you.
No one cares if you love it or enjoy it,
Or if you’re even lost and confused.

Everyone is fighting their own little battles,
Caught up in their own affairs.
No one has time to look around,
To see who else is in despair.

A child might be lying, crying, dying,
And what are we to do?
Because the child might not tell their story,
And nobody even knew.

A mother might be confused, abused, misused,
But her words are never said.
Because the mother wants to protect her young,
And out comes the lies instead.

A father might feel threatened, deadened, lessened,
But in remains his words,
Because the father has a family to protect,
So he decides to put them first.

Each human you pass on the street,
May have a life like the ferocious sea.
So don’t pass judgement onto others,
Let them live their lives in peace.

It's not fair to say you have it worse,
And no one is wrong, nor right.
You have your own story to tell,
And that's the way of life.
