The whispers in the woods 🌲
“Shhhh” can you hear those whispers within the wild woods
As delicate Daffodils are drooping their heavy heads, underneath little yellow hoods
Yon tall old oak trees are looking after all their worldly goods
Nurturing nestling fledglings from sweet melancholy moods
But “Look and learn” those tall tree trunks have eyes
They are clandestinely coveted in a lustred leafy disguise
Where gnarled knotted notches slyly, secretly spies
From anybody who tries to hoodwink them with lying porky pies
So I creep and crawl on the very tip of my toes
Deciphering whispers betwixt that breeze that blows
But where on earth are those woody whisperers, well no one knows
As I shy away from silent silhouettes, sneaking amidst yon scary shadows
