The Wolf That Dwelled In Me

The Wolf That Dwelled In Me

I was born and nearly died
Doctors answered when I cried
But it was not a cry, it was a howl
They failed to realize I was not normal
I vomited clear across the delivery room
They all said I was in doom
               But I survived
             My time had arrived
To show my animalistic nature
When I became of age
          My father preyed
          A I obeyed
          For he was wild
          And being his child
I looked at the fullness of the moon
I lifted my head, my voice and was not afraid no more
I walked out into the brightness of the dark and vivid moonlight
I knew they were always right
         That I was born wild
          I heard distant wolves
          Raising their cries
And I howled in unison with them
And the wolf that dwelled in me..... made me alive again
