Poem -

THE WORLD BEYOND

The snowflake gazed
At the child within the pane
In a room of flickering firelight
That beckoned enticingly
With the reddest rosy glow

And it was saddened
For it could never know
A young child's

Warmth

And the child gazed out
At the snow beyond the pane
At the twinkling flurries
That stole the air
The frozen blankets
That cwtched the hills
At iced fingers
On frosted sills

And longed to feel
A snowflakes chill.

Deep but simple in it's expression. I love the contrast between cold needing warmth and warmth craving cold. It's a beautiful piece you have here.
