Poem -

They and Us

they talk like they know it all,
point like they've seen it all before,
skimpy clothes,
flashy face,
just another booty call,
a flowing gown.
a face that's bare,
just another holy saint,
over sized shirts,
pants that don't fit,
probably an ugly body underneath,
they tell our stories with what they see,
never giving us the chance to tell the truth.

and later we are asked,
"why are you so self conscious?",
we live in a visual era,
where what we see defines who we become,
cause of you men,
you take advantage of what we give,
and ask for more till what we have is gone,
you struggle to prove your dominance,
and in the process obliterate every sense of dignity.

we are displayed on posters,
like a worthless artwork,
and they come and stare,
and disregard our sense of humanity,
the force them self upon us,
like we're dolls without a mind,
they expect us to be silent,
and play our expected role,
but they have made a move,
and now it's our turn.
