         They’re Only Words 

  They’re only words written there to teach us. Only words that could tare me to pieces if written that way. Only words please tell me your story, only words please tell me you’re sorry, please tell me to stay.
  Only words put to song, teach them to me and I’ll sing along. Only words let them rhyme as if poetry written by the masters so fair and so strong. Only words carried through the ages, from every land, in every language so all will understand. 
  Only words written in every script, on paper, parchment and the hulls of every ship. Only words that sailed far are near, only words written for the kind and the blind, even words written for the dead and the quick.
  They’re only words, but stronger than bombs , only words but stronger than steel, only words of an expression of love or those that won’t heal. 
  The word is, be them good or be them bad , they’re only words.
