Poetry Therapy

It was a long day at work, I came home reminding myself to be happy.

I texted the wife ahead and said let’s get out of the house, it’s been awhile.

She couldn’t agree more and said I’ll have Owen ready, he will be excited.

We took a trip to Menards, Kids toys, gardening, tools and groceries too.

Throughout the trip I had anxiety and I shouldn’t have had any, I was with my family.

Within the store I kept telling myself to slow down, we are in no hurry.

My wife steering the cart and I’m pushing Owen in the stroller.

Kayleen reminds me to pull down the shade so Owen can see everything.

Our son is so curious, he’s 8 months old and quickly learning the world.

It was a long day at work, I came home reminding myself to be happy.

We had a good day, I managed my mind.

“Relate trauma and flaws to a good memory of you managing it well and remind yourself how it was capable by making that line more relevant”

Ps: I was offered a drink tonight and gratefully turned it down.

Yours truly,
Poetry Therapy

Summary: Creatively combining confining feelings, penning pain and past struggles will prevent a mental-meltdown just as much as traditional therapy if not better because you were forced to think more and create beauty from pain in a way you can listen!!!

I see Topic: Reality. Your family will be proud of you today, Rob. And so should you.
An achievement for sure. Stay strong and don’t forget to be happy again tomorrow.

Exactly, an invested thought that led to the motivation of a poem being created , that one of energy associated to combat the negative ones when reflecting really inspires me. It helps adapt the mind, it helps prevent the relapse, it keeps me centered.
