This Is Where You're Going

This Is Where You're Going

You are going back to school, learn not to be trite,
at least someone dreamed of winning, others only might,
I hear 'betwixt' and between, I wonder what you mean,
coz if you don't know, then none of us will.

They say that Picasso painted like Renoir at sixteen,
became bored, invented cubism, cried wolf in between;
all these 'oldies' back at a sanitised school desk again,
don't want to change, have followers, you're so vain.

Looks like this covid is going to sort out men from boys,
just as well you're not bothered about going to the pub in Cumbria,
well, I am - an alien friend of mine said: 'You really fucked up,
your planet's finished, so much for free will - you should be ashamed.'

Yeah well, we had some fun didn't we - make love if you can ,
the others can dream - at least someone had the guts to say so.
