THIS OLD CLOCK

THIS OLD CLOCK

THIS OLD CLOCK
EVERY SECOND
EVERY MINUTE
EVERY HOUR
THE DAYS
THE WEEKS
THE MOUTHS
THE YEARS
THE MANY
MOONS
THE MANY
SUNS THAT
PASS THIS
OLD CLOCK
AND THE MANY
PEOPLE
WHO FLOCKED
BY THIS OLD CLOCK
AND WHEN THE
SHADOWS COME
TO MOCK AGAINST
THE TICKING OF
THIS  CLOCK
THIS OLD CLOCK,

GREG!!......this is such a compelling read....for me..... it is a metaphor for the passing of time and effects it has on the human mind, body, and soul.....a VERY well conceived and VERY well delivered piece of poetic prose that has a depth most unexpected....also, I love the way you maintained the continuity of the "OCK" sound running throughout!!......that rhyme adds much to the overall tone!!.......ALL STARS & PINNED!!......well penned dear poet brother!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo  : )
PS. I hope I didn't misinterpret this my friend!!

Greg you have certainly nailed it here, time and its cause and effect on those around it. A real motif of time encapsulated in your most fine and well written and delivered poem.
In life time waits for no-one and I believe we should make every new day and every second count, to strive and live and lead a good life not forgetting all those around us who need help in society today.
For your poem of this old clock and it's ticking theme can make us realise that the time to act and engage is not later, not tomorrow or next week but now.
Thanks Greg and a superb and most enthralling write to make a reader think.

Greg, that is good to know about a Welsh connection and certainly looks a clock of historic character and there are many churches in Wales but only nine cathedrals. Would now love to discover it's home.
Thank you Greg for sharing that info and your poem also.

Greg I'll look into that and can even ask the good people in antiquities research at the museum where I'm fortunate to work.
They'll be back in on Monday and hopefully can let you know by Tuesday evening, if they're not too busy to locate it once and for all.
I'll mention your good self and your poem too and not forgetting Wells Cathedral also for starting point.
See and read you tomorrow evening Greg and thanks for that info and all the best and respect to you my friend.

Greg, Monday I'll ask them and I'll even bribe them with a cuppa and a kind word.
If that fails I'll get the thumbscrews and tickling stick out and recite my poetry !!
Never fails!

Wow Greg you have actually captured time and it reads sublime! What a truly clever write here my friend. For time escapes us so quickly. Suddenly we reach the end and didn't notice it passing us by. But you have grabbed the seconds, minutes, days, months and years brilliantly 👏 a wonderful poem x
