This Rose of Love
This ROSE of LOVE
I'm having faith in love resembling you,
like rosebuds blooming in the springtime wind,
while watching petals float away, on cue.
The barren stem then sways albeit thinned
while left are all but yellow thistle hairs
that dangle in the wind. Alone and free
they bloom one last hoorah for one who stares
with quite a glance, that comes so easily?
But beauty’s death is all that faith may teach,
when your tomorrow comes no matter what.
This spring of life, a never-ending reach,
that lives long after rosebuds are cut.
This rose, your love, an ever-living truth,
that when one dies their love will keep its youth.
