“thorny Tree” by Junaid Boughan

“thorny Tree” by Junaid Boughan
thorny tree, thorny tree;
Beneath your veins lie to me,
My grandmother I long,
In my heart not far gone.
Because of her beauty I feed your thorns,
My focus is on her which does not mean,
I am ignoring you Thorny tree,
I adore your shade you bring to me,
When my eyes are close to pray to thee,
The birds sing to me; not the answers but a song,
To why we all come to be,
but today I change my mind…
“& pray for my friend, Thorny tree.”
Inspired to write after reading:
“A Murmur in the Tree-to note” by Emily Dickenson.
“There is a Solemn Wind Tonight” by Katherine Mansfield.
“Palm-tree” by Rabindranath Tagore.
“Trees” by Joyce Kilmer.
“A Poison Tree” by William Blake.
“The Echoing Green” by William Blake.

No wonder that after reading a few perpetrators of such magnitude to Junaid wakes you the inspiration to compose a beautiful poem dedicated to those trees full of thorns but majestic.
“Espinas, sangre, savia y heridas mezclándose con la vida”
