“Those trees have eyes”

“Those trees have eyes”

“Those trees have eyes”
My friend said as we were wandering through the woods
Iooking at the trees I turned to her saying “You are in one of your moods”
So we walked past the forest and up a little hill with a slight summer breeze with the backdrop in the distance of the spying trees
Then into the valley with the river running through
where the grass was green and the sky was blue
Huge hills were on our left and right such a pretty picturesque sight

“Those hills can hear” Shirley said in a whispring way suggesting fear
“What is wrong with you today ? You are giving me the jitters I have to say !!”
I expected her to laugh but instead she frowned as we kept on walking with our heads to the ground
“How on earth can hills hear us you have a vivid imagination” I sounded serious yet with some consternation
“I’m telling you they listen to everything we say” Shirley told me this in a very scary way
“Well then let’s shut up and hurry on you have got me scared today”

Well we walked and walked and eventually ended our countryside roams
Then we parted with a “Goodbye” and both went back to our homes
Of course I doubted my friends hometruths when she said the trees had eyes
and also her spookiness about the hills listening to us like spies
But then again spiritualistically who knows perhaps nature can hear and see
There is absolutely nothing in this wide world that would every shock or surprise me
