Three Monsters

Three Monsters

Guilt, shame, and regret,
Three monsters I wish to forget,
But always running behind,
Reminding that I can't hide.

It's the combination of grief,
Wishing I could just delete,
Yet all the same they tarry,
Waiting for me to then carry.

I know, however, what I must do,
Which is to pray to be rescued,
That my great God will be kind,
Ridding and leaving behind.

I'll rejoice when they're gone,
With forgiveness as my song,
And praising for sweet release,
Because I ran to God for peace.
