Three Was Never A Crowd

On July twenty-sixth, 2001, a Blessed Soul was born;
A beautiful baby Bichon, in the early hours morn!
Ten weeks later, at the end of September, his breeder ran an ad;
She was selling her puppy litter, six to choose from, that she had!

Mommy drove down to see them, I was traveling far away;
She called me when she got home, on that most glorious of days!
She said that when she saw you, you were the most beautiful she’d ever seen;
She asked if we could buy you, I said, “Certainly, my Queen”!

I came back a few weeks later, I loved you at first sight;
I held you all the day long, and you slept with us at night!
We became an inseparable trio, never was “Three A Crowd”;
We formed a strong Triumvirate, no intruders e’er allowed!

February twenty-seventh, 2003, your doggie Mommy had seven more;
Twelve weeks later, we bought a Brother that you instantly adored!
So then we were a quartet, “All For One, And One For All”;
Since “your” name was our dear Nico, precious Cody, did we him call!
.
For near twelve years we were together, shared love so very true;
But three years ago, on this date, we suffered the loss of you!
Again, we became a threesome, but your absence was impossible to bear;
Each day we’d wake up crying, wishing our dear Nico was still there!
