Poem -

Three Years Down The Drain

I don't know if it just happened,

Or if it was somewhere down the line,

I think it was always there, and --

Maybe I was lying to myself all this time

Because I can't remember when we were last happy

Can't quite recall when we trusted ourselves,

Don't remember when you weren't so dastardly.

And I don't know if you loved me or someone else

What went wrong? I could've sworn I followed the manual,

Could've sworn I was there for you through birthdays and bad dreams

What happened to you? You judged without a trial --

You took away all the moonlight and sunbeams.

Before I met you, I thought I knew what heartbreak was

You taught me that the real monsters are the ones who hurt you --

                                                            Just because.
