Through Anubis Into The Light

In a moment of desperation I went to her advice box, for solace
And before any answer came, I knew that she'd recall the promise
Made between our searching eyes, in a dream-like state, long ago
As she was a reincarnation of herself, and I, a passing minstrel show
That performed in every sense of her, reminding her of who we were
A pair of lonely dancers, moving through ethereal versions of her
And who she may have been, it was just a meditation in consideration
Of the alliance of apparitions, existing in each others concentration
In an Egyptian pyramid, the home where she and Anubis lived
Tracking down our lost Loves, and former likenesses we bid..

It was a running wager, that would recycle every thousand years
And even when we saw each other, it was through a veil of tears
That ran down through the ages, written down in scrolls and pages
Telling the story of how we lived and Loved, through sorcerers and sages
Searching for the one true Love, that we were always dreaming of
Through lifetimes speeding at hyper-velocities, and drifting far above
The pettiness of strangers, we knew ALL the hidden dangers
Having been though this so many times before
And now she's like Anubis, jumping to conclusions
Leading me from the darkness, into the light
She's the only Love I've ever known
And through the years we've truly grown..

Now, after these many centuries
Anubis has made it right
And walked us into the light..

We see each other, for who we truly are
No longer onyx, no longer loving
From afar..
