Poem -

Throwaway

Take it.
Take a portion of me.
Fill my head with hopes and dreams,
enough to distract
whilst you take what you need from me.

I am a buffet.
Help yourself to whatever it is
that takes your fancy tonight.
Pile your plate with more than you want,
There is no consequence for greed.

And then, when your appetite has been fulfilled,
when your ego has had its fix,
discard what is left of what you took
and dispose,
Dispose of me.
